MICHELLE MCIVER

Michelle McIver has spent nearly two decades helping clients leverage digital technologies to engage their audiences. She has collaborated on the creation of games, mobile apps, YouTube content, Facebook apps, websites, and advertising / contesting campaigns for clients across various sectors. 

As an independent producer, Michelle works with production studio clients and broadcast partners to create compelling digital experiences for their series. Michelle has been a lead contributor to successful BellFund, Canada Media Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund and IDM Fund submissions for both TV and Digital.

Michelle has an expansive, though not exclusive, portfolio in children’s media. Digital media productions she has led include the CSA and YMA nominated Look Kool/C’est Wow interactive, True and the Rainbow Kingdom mobile and online games, Some Assembly Required games, and Cache Craze games. Non-kids content includes the Startoon YouTube Live Awards Show, Package Deal interactive and NFB’s interactive documentary “The Faith Project”. Current projects (in varying stages of production) include Amelie et Compagnie, Hello Charlie/Allo Charlie, When I Grow Up, The Art Show, Big Blue and Essence (Wabunganung Films). She has worked with a number of TV producers from across the country and broadcast partners including TVO, TFO, Radio-Canada, CBC, Netflix, YTV, APTN and CityTV. 

With roots in economic development (Northern Ontario), Michelle developed a passion for projects that support entrepreneurs and the creative industries. On behalf of Interactive Ontario, she spearheaded a three city pilot project that brought the funders and tax credit experts to major interactive digital media clusters across the province. She led a trade mission to Kidscreen Summit 2015 to help interactive companies connect with TV producers. She was also part of the consulting team engaged to research and provide recommendations for the City of Mississauga’s Creative Industries Strategy. 

Most recently, Michelle has been working with YouTube Canada and the Toronto YouTube Creator Space on initiatives to support and educate creators who have “unlocked the space”. She is also an ongoing consultant to OnScreen Manitoba, working on various projects including the Content Creator Toolkit.
