With more than 25 years in the industry, 15 of which were as Director of Film Financing and Tax Credits, Louise is well-versed in budgeting, labour, provincial and federal incentives, and logistics that make her a valued resource to our foreign production clients. As VP of Physical Production/ Deputy Film Commissioner, Louise markets the province to global studios and producers by promoting locations, infrastructure, and the benefits of the tax credit and, at the same time, troubleshoots at a local level when challenges arise. Prior to joining Manitoba Film & Music, Louise worked as a unit publicist, location manager, and assistant director for feature films and television series, as well as developed curriculum and taught for Film Training Manitoba. She has been a member of the Director’s Guild of Canada since 1997, and a member of the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television since 2006, serving as a jury member for Canada’s selection for the Oscars. Louise remains focused on strategic labour growth to realize Manitoba’s full potential as a Canada’s most compelling production destination.
