Louise O'Brien-Moran
Director of Film Financing, Tax Credits and Film Commission Service, Manitoba Film & Music
Louise O’Brien-Moran is the Director of Film Financing, Tax Credits and Film Commission Services for Manitoba Film & Music and has been a significant driver of production since joining the statutory corporation more than 18 years ago. Her expertise in physical production has contributed to significant growth in the service production sector for the province. In her capacity as Director of Film Financing, she has overseen the investment of more than 40 feature films and over 150 hours of prime-time TV series as well as a considerable number of factual and documentary programs. With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, Louise has worked as a Unit Publicist, Production Coordinator, Location Manager and Assistant Director for feature films and television series. She is committed to career development in the film industry, having previously instructed for Film Training Manitoba and served as a film industry liaison for the Heshka Institute of Digital Innovation (HIDI), resulting in more than 10 graduates securing work in the film industry. Louise has recently been appointed to the Creative Media Program Advisory Committee (PAC) in the School of Business at Assiniboine Community College. Committed to supporting Manitoba content creators and creative entrepreneurs that choose Manitoba for their productions, Louise thrives on seeing Manitobans succeed be it as producers, directors, writers or as part of the valuable technicians and production personnel that are vital to the final production value of any content. Louise graduated from University of Manitoba with a degree in history and political science.
