Jennifer Beasley

A Writers Guild of Canada-nominated writer with comedy and drama television as well as web-based screenwriting credits to her name, Jen Beasley has been active in the film communities in both Toronto and Winnipeg for over two decades. Following a seven-year stint as an assistant cameraperson on various productions, in 2008 Jen segued into the television story department.

Upon graduating from the Canadian Film Centre’s Prime Time Television Program in 2009, Jen was hired as story coordinator on the award-winning TV series LESS THAN KIND. Her co-written script for the finale of the second season was nominated for a 2011 Writers Guild of Canada Comedy Writing Award. From there, she went on to work as a story editor for Season Four of the acclaimed series. Subsequent work included screenwriting credits on such shows as Showcase’s CRA$H & BURN and CBC’s MEN WITH BROOMS.

Joining Buffalo Gal Pictures in 2016, as a Production Executive at Buffalo Gal Pictures, Jen was integral to both the development and production divisions and is adept at shepherding a project from the initial stages through financing to delivery, with her supervising producer/production executive credits including A VERY SORDID WEDDING (2017), LOOK AWAY (2018), SIBERIA (2018), and JT LEROY (2018).  

In the fall of 2017, Jen was named Buffalo Gal Pictures' Head of Development, and in 2021 was  promoted to Vice President, Development where she oversaw the company's diverse feature and television slate. Recent credits include EP/Producer on the 3-season Kistikan series ACTING GOOD (CTVComedy, APTN)  and EP on the eOne/Buffalo Gal Pictures’ procedural THE SPENCER SISTERS (CTV, The CW)

In January, 2025, Jen launched Fiasco Global Media, an international sister enterprise of Buffalo Gal Pictures devoted to finding and developing new television series. Headquartered in Winnipeg and Los Angeles, Fiasco will focus on characters and stories that immerse audiences in compelling worlds and create cultural touchstones.

In addition, Jen served as Co-Chair of On Screen Manitoba's Board of Directors from 2020-2023.
